Valentines 2015

Valentines 2015 was awesome!!! It was our first Valentines being married, but second one since dating. Since this year was technically our first, I wanted it to be special, I didn't want to spend hardly any money and I wanted all the gifts to be from the heart (like handmade or notes...etc.) I wanted to be creative I guess you could say because there is usually such a pressure on Valentines day and all the holidays for that matter, I hate that. Bob had a hard time with that idea at first because he claims he isn't creative and he loves to spoil me. Eventually he came around.

I had to work Friday night, so Saturday morning I started the day with this beautiful sunrise. I love being up every morning to see the sunrise-it is the best perk of working graves. After I got off my sweet husband picked me up at the train station and took me home. He got me a huge card and a cute little bear with the year 2015 on it's foot. I love things that say the year so we can remember them forever! I loved this gift and I loved his hand written note! I gave him a box of chocolates and sticky notes with 100 reason why I love him. I put them on sticky notes to shape them into a heart but there were way too many so I gave up on that idea. He loved this!! They are still up on that mirror as I type. He's a cutie.I then took a little nap so I wasn't a zombie the whole day. After my nap he took me shooting in Tooele. The weather was perfect, shooting was perfect. being with Bob was better than perfect! (Cheesy I know) It has been so long since we have been shooting and it was just so fun! It also made us realize we need to add more guns to our collection...oh boy. 

After shooting we went to Wingers for dinner. Why wingers? Because we knew it wouldn't be busy and we love wingers duh. Who can resist those sticky fingers of goodness? Not the Kanes. After that since we were in Tooele still we went to see my parents. I love living so close that I can see them basically whenever. This trip they decided it was time for me to take some of my crap that they have been storing since...forever. When I say crap I mean stuff that I couldn't throw away when I moved to College. After we got home with this crap we went through it for a while. Some of the boxes were pictures and yearbooks. Just a stroll down memory lane with Bob-it was so fun to show him what I did in high school and how I looked throughout the years. 

After reminiscing we gave each other 'professional massages' and watched one of our movies that we got for Christmas and haven't opened yet. It really was such a great day and possibly the start to a new tradition, we will see!  This weekend is also special to us because it is the weekend we first met two years ago!!!!! It's crazy to think we have been dating for two years! The best two years of my life people. I still wonder some days how I got so lucky and how I ever lived without him! To celebrate, he made me breakfast and I made him dinner. I love this life of mine!!

First ever picture together!!

Other than that not much has happened, although lately I have been wanting to cut my hair. As you can see in pictures it is so LONG! I love it but I need a change, and cutting it is the only option. Plus I have split ends like crazy, it won't be anything drastic just to my lower shoulder blades or something? Who knows I might chicken out! Last but not least...it's that time of year already for Cadbury Eggs!! I saw this gem and I couldn't resist! I hope everyone has a great week! Thanks for keeping up with the Kanes. 

Boise Idaho

This past weekend Bob and I accompanied my grandparents to Boise Idaho. My grandpa's brother lives in Idaho and he isn't doing so well. He is slowly declining in health and my grandpa wanted to go see him while he still had the chance. I have been up there a few times to visit that side of my family but I haven't visited in many years...like since grade school!! We left Bountiful around 11:00 am Thursday morning, now while traveling with Grandparents we listen to books on tape. This trip was in our favor because they brought the first two books of Harry Potter!! I was so excited because I have been meaning to re-read them. Bob was a little skeptical but I think he liked them.  We drove for a while then stopped in Tremonton to eat at JC's Diner. Then we hit the road again and arrived in Boise around 4:00 pm. At first we just talked and got reacquainted, It was so fun to introduce Bob to everyone. It never gets old-"this is my husband bob" It just rolls off the tongue. We ordered pizza for dinner, and watched a little TV (we tried so hard to find the Jazz game but had no luck..,that's why they lost Thursday night) then we headed to bed. 

The next morning we got up and bad a huge breakfast of Pancakes with eggs and sausage. Then Bob and I went out and adventured around. We weren't sure what to do in a town we have never been in before, I looked up stuff on trip adviser but most of it was things to do in the summertime. We started out by going to the mall, which was a pretty big mall. We spend a couple hours there just walking in each shop and even getting lost. We found ourselves a magnet-we have this tradition where every place we vacation we buy a magnet. It's so fun, most times finding the magnet is the funnest part. After that we went to get drinks and treats then went back home to relax before we went to the Temple. The Boise Temple is so small, but so unique. We loved going to the Temple that evening, we usually don't have time while visiting to do that but this time we made it a priority. 

After the Temple we changed then we out to dinner, Bob wanted Chinese food so we went to this little place that wasn't too far from the house. It was pretty good, it was a lot of food though. Neither of us expected that much food on one plate...and neither of us finished it either. The rest of the night we just hung out with the family. Sometimes I wish we had a bigger family but then I have these experiences and realize just how big my family really is. I have so many second cousins it's ridiculous. Saturday morning we got up bright and early and headed home. We had to be home by 4:00 pm to pick up our puppies and I got called into work Saturday night as well. It was a great trip though-the weather was beautiful up there!! I didn't even wear a jacket half the time. Plus It was just so nice to be with Bob 24-7 and not have any responsibilities. 

I love road trips and I can't wait to do more of them this upcoming year. Thanks for keeping up with the Kanes!
