Honeymoon in Cali!

For our honeymoon we decided to spend a week in Oceanside California. After our wedding day we did however spend a couple days at the Casa Blanca in Mesquite. It was awesome! I had no idea it was so resortish, and why we didn't go there sooner. The pool was awesome, our room was awesome, and the spa where we got massages was awesome. To anyone getting married in the future GET A MASSAGE! Best thing after months of stress and planning 24-7. Plus we are now hooked on getting massages and will probably get a couples massage the week of our birthdays!

We left the first week of May around 3-4 in the morning so we could just get there. I love California: the air, the sun, the beach, the scene, everything. We arrived in Oceanside and were amazed! It was so cozy and cute, there were cute shops everywhere and we couldn't wait to explore. We first checked into our timeshare which was called the Wyndham Oceanside pier resort. It was right across from the beach!! I loved that feature of it! Plus it was within walking distance of many eating places and a movie theater. After checking in an exploring we went to the local Walmart to pick up a few essential food items. We didn't want to eat out every meal everyday that gets expensive and old fast. The wWalmartwas just a market so it was nice and small and sold milk that was almost $4.00!! I wanted to die! I quickly learned that everything is more expensive in California. It's already almost doubled and then doubled again since there are two of us.

We decided when before we left Utah that we would just hang out in Oceanside, we thought about Disneyland but his favorite ride was out of order so as silly as that is we didn't go. We did however buy tickets to an Anahiem Angels game but I am an idiot and got my days mixed up and we freaking missed the game! I was so mad at myself, my sweet husband acted calm and loving but I know he was so upset! I have yet to make that up to him! We spent a lot of time at the beach, and the shops around Our hotel. We went to a mall in Carlsbad and saw a sign for a big annual fair that was happening later that week. We figure why not go check it out, hang out with the locals. So we researched where it was and found out they do a shuttle from the mall to the fair. We were a litle nervous but it all worked out and we had was so much fun! It was basically an event where vendors come and bring things they either make or buy and try to sell it. It went for miles and miles down Carlsbad main street and the surrounding streets, it took us hours to see everything! We were so tired after that we just went back to the hotel and spent the rest of the night there. We spent one afternoon at the movies, we both really wanted to see the most recent Paul Walker movie Brick Mansions. It was really good and really expensive-like $11.00 a ticket expensive.We figured we are only on a honeymoon once so we might as well. Near the end of our week, the town of Oceanside held a farmers market day, so we went to that. The morning was mostly produce and food. The afternoon one was mostly stuff and a few bands. It was awesome to just hang out with the locals. Days we didn't have anything planned were just spent at the beach, which I loved!  

We just had the best week ever and have decided that we are going to try to make going to California a yearly thing, it's real close and there is plenty to do. We can go to different spots each year too! Like San Franscico, we have never been there! Disneyland is also a favorite spot of mine and Bob hasn't been since he was little. Honeymoons are really the greatest but any vacation with my handsome husband is like a honeymoon to me. That's it for now, Thanks for Keeping up with the Kanes!  

Married Life

People would always said that married life is like the best thing ever and the best way to live...I didn't think they were for real. I thought 'oh you are just saying that' but being married for just 8 and 1/2 months has changed my thinking. I honestly don't know why some people DON'T get married. I LOVE being married, there was no weird transition phase or hard part about living together. We just meshed and everything went smoothly! There are somedays where I feel like we have been married for years and I can't remeber what it's like to be single. I know that proably sounds cheesy but facts are facts. I love my Bob more and more everyday and I miss him when he is gone. We recently spent our first night apart since being married. It was way hard for me. I had the worst time sleeping alone it was weird. I just love having a partner in crime and I love that I don't have to do things alone-he is just always there-life is better in twos. So far since being married we went on our honeymoon to Oceanside, see that awesome post here. We have been up north a few times, and even went to Idaho for a day. We went camping back in June up at Panguitch lake-it was awesome! We only went for 3 days and that wasn't enough, when the time came to leave I really didn't want to. We cooked in the dutch oven, played games, went for walks and even caught a fish or two. It was just good bonding time and I wish we could have gone more this summer. We also go shooting like all the time-it's our favorite. We especially love to go with the Blacks and the Eves, it's fun to share our hobbies with our friends. Bob bought me a ruger LCP-380 in July and I love it! It fits my hand perfectly and doesn't kick very much. I love that when we go I now have my own handgun and shot gun to shoot, we don't have to take turns. It is so funny that I have my own gun, I never thought that day would come.I never had an interest in guns before I met Bob, and now we both love them. Our little Ali girl is getting so big, August made her 6 months old. Since she was 6 months we had to take her to get her second set of shots, which included he rabbies. She was so scared and hated being there. One of her shots made her squeal and that made me cry. I am going to be terrible when my children get shots if I cry when my dog gets them. I just love that little dog so much and getting her was the best decision ever. She keeps me company when bob is away and gives us hours of entertainment too. We recently left St George and moved up north. We did it for multiple reasons: School, work, change, more opportunities and last but not least to be closer to our families. I transferred courier offices and I definitely miss my Dixie office, but am loving the Salt Lake office just as much. Bob has decided to go to school for HVAC, the DATC in Kaysville has a really awesome program and he is so excited and has been looking for something like this for awhile now. I am so very very proud of him and can't wait to see where his career takes us. As for me, I have decided to go into teaching. I would love to be a nurse but it doesn't feel right anymore. I don't know why at one time it was right but now it's not. I am hoping to start a few pre-reqs in the Spring at SLCC since it's close to our house, then I will transfer to UVU when Bob is all done with his program. That is about all for now. Bridals

Due to lack of internet and willingness to go to the library or any wifi hot spot, I am a tad slow on getting these posted. I loved our bridals! We went to the Temple for some obviously, and then we went to Snow Canyon. I really wanted some nice St George scenery in our pictures. My brother in-law took them for us and he did a fabulous Job! I had so much fun with him, my sister, and Paige. Here they are! Isn't my husband a stud? I hope you love them like we did! Thanks for Keeping up with the Kanes!

Engagements

Due to lack of internet and willingness to go to the library or any wifi hot spot, I am a tad slow on getting these posted. Engagements were everything I thought they would be and more. For some reason I love the street of Tabernacle in St George. I love the buildings and just the old town feel. So that's where we went and we decided to take most of them at the library and the surrounding buildings there. We had such a great time with Holly and Dustin! They were the perfect duo, he took the pictures after she posed and fixed outfits. I was really excited for these because these were the first real formal pictures we took! Plus it really meant that we were getting married! I just loved them, and I hope you do too! Thanks for Keeping up with the Kanes!
